CHRISTMAS 2008 IN USA

Before one week for Christmas snowed and the classes was cancelled. We know that Christmas is an activity for many capitalist countries, so this Christamas was no so good for many families because the aconomy of this country. In spite many families celebrated the Crhistmas, I had the opportunity to visit them. I started visiting Charlie’s family in Conectecut. I spent three days and on Saturda we went to New York city in order to see the Christmas tree. It was so cold. And on Sunday afternoon I went to Poughkeepsie Meeting House, we sang Christmas Carol songs, and also performed bolivian music, I played panpipes (zamponas). Then I spent with Peggy and Norm’s family. On Thursday, the Christmas day I went to visit one family until 4:30pm then I went to visit a quaker family. After Christmas I had dinner with Jeremy’s family I met his parents and siblings. Then I had dinner with “Rincon Latino”. We say that way because we use to get togheter all from latinamerica with the Spanish teachers. I could realize that the favorite food for Christmass is cokies, many times made by themselves. In all the families I saw cookies. Also bread made by themselves and always it is hot. The meat not always is chicken. The exchange of the Christmas gifts is really important. Sometime they gave the gifts made by themselves and also prepaid gifts, and if someone got that type of gift he/she can go to the store in order to get anything. In Jeremy’s family enchanged prepaid checks in order to go to have meal in some restaurant. In the dinner potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, and vegetables (beans, lettuce, tomatoes different sizes) and the apple is prepared by many ways. Last of all, wine is the favorite drink in many families. And also I could realize that in many families one of the member plays piano and also I saw them playing Christmas songs. In my case I played bolivian music, I played Zampona, charango, quena. Many times Jeremy plays bandle and I play charango. Well HAPPY NEW YEAR!! GOD BLESS YOU!!

LA NAVIDAD DEL 2008 EN AMERICA-EEUU

Faltando una semana para la navidad cayó la primera nevada y la ultima clase en el Colegio se cancelo. Sabiendo que la navidad es una actividad mercantilista promovido por los países capitalistas, esta navidad fue no muy buena para muchas familias americanas. A causa de la crisis económica que esta sintiendo este país. A pesar de ello, muchas familias recibieron la navidad con sus familias. Yo empecé la navidad visitando a la familia de Charlie en Conecticut. Estuve ahí tres días, y el sábado antes de la navidad fuimos a la ciudad de Nueva York para ver el árbol de la navidad. Estaba haciendo frío. El domingo en la tarde fui a la iglesia de Poughkeepsie para Christmas Carol, cantamos y presente música boliviana tocando los encantos de la zampona. Días antes de la navidad pase con su familia de Peggy y Norm. El día de la navidad viste a una familia desde medio día hasta las 4:30 luego fue a visitar a una familia cuáquera. Y después de la navidad visite a mi amigo Jeremy y a sus padres y hermanos. Luego tuvimos la cena del "Rincon Latino". Lo decimos asi porque nos encontramos todos los latinos. Donde me invitaron las profesoras de español del colegio. La Comida favorita es "cookies " galletas hechas por ellos mismos. En toda las familias casi no falta cookies. Tienen panes horneados por ellos mismos y que están calientes. La carne no siempre es pollo puede ser otras también. El intercambio de regalos es imprescindible en toda las familias. Algunos intercambian regalos hechos por ellos mismos o algunos compran regalos prepago, y la persona que recibe ese regalo escoge en la tienda que puede encontrar con ese monto. En la familia de mi amigo Jeremy intercambiaron regalos prepagados para almorzar en un restaurante. Comúnmente en la cena lo acompañan con puré de papa, patatas dulces (camote), arroz blanco, verduras (vainillas es la favorita,lechuga,tomates de diferentes tamaños,) y a la manzana lo preparan de todo (jugo, pie, etc) y el vino es la bebida favorita en toda las familias. En muchas de las familias alguien toca piano y siempre suelen tocar algo relacionado a la navidad. Pero yo las promocione la música boliviana, tocando la zampona, charango, quena, y entre otros. Muchas veces Jeremy toca "bandle" y yo charango. Bueno FELIZ ANO NUEVO!! Y QUE DIOS LES BENDIGA!!
